Story of Nils Holgerson, a naughty boy who is transfomed to a very little dwarf and goes through many adventures, flying with a band of wild geese
Nils' parents are getting ready to go out like every Sunday. As usual, Nils has disappeared.
Now that Nils has shrunk to the size of a dwarf, the farm animals bully him, untill he he flies away with a pack of geese on Martin's back.
Martin is still following the flock of wild geese, Nils and his hamster Krumel are riding on his back, holding on tight, while a fox eyes them hungrily.
Nils and Krumel are still thoroughly enjoying the free and easy life with the wild geese. They are still taking it as an adventure they would never want to miss.
Once again, Nils and Krumel have left the shelter of the flock without permission. Nils cannot stand the sight of raw fish any longer and he sets out to find something more tasty.
Martin has every reason to be grateful to Nils after having survived his adventure at Vittskofle Manor, Nils is very pleased by Martin's words of thanks.
The weather has changed. It is storming and raining, and has become chilly and unpleasant, The wild geese are forced to land.
This morning Nils has to learn that becoming a normal boy again will be far more difficult than he had imagined.

Martin disappears without telling them where he is going, he has stopped talking with the others, he piles up twice the food he is able to eat by himself, in short, he is in a very hectic mood.
Akka and her flock of wild geese are struggling against the wind. They are flying low above the water, lashed up by the storm, the foam-crested waves seem to reach out for them to pull them under.
The wild-geese are flying north, that is through the area of the weather witch Ysotter-Kajsas.

A heavy storm forces the wild-geese to an earlier landing near Orebro. Not far from the landing place of the geese a farmer drives cows and an old horse onto the street. As soon as the weather breaks loose the farmer seeks protection in a farm house but the poor animals must stay out-side.
A sharp wind has driven the wild geese off their regular route to the north and has taken them to Uppland, the mining area.
Uppsala is the first big city the wild geese are passing on their way to Lapland. Nils and Krumel gaze in wonder at all those houses and the big cathedral from above but unfortunately they cannot go down because there is no place to land for the wild geese in the big city.
Slowly spring comes. The snow starts to melt in the woods. The Moler-Lake swells up beyond its shore. Meadows and fields are under water. The animals have to leave their homes and they no longer find something to eat.
In the meantime, spring has come and made the snow melt in the north, too. Like all the other rivers and lakes in the country, Lake Molar has risen to the point of overflowing its shores. Smirre, the fox, has devised a new trick, by which he means to catch Nils Holgersson at last.
The raven Bataki loved to fly through all of Sweden and to think about all that which he's seen. He knew every tree and every bush.
Nils, Krumel and Akka von Kebnekaisse's wild-geese flew over a national festival. They could hear music and laughter, which sounded up to them.
Akka von Kebnekaisse, her wild-geese, along with Nils Holgersson and Krumel continue to migrate towards the north. The weather was good.
On an especially beautiful, warm and summery day Nils and Krumel wandered through the meadows of the valley, where they'd landed with Akka von Kebnekaisse and the wild-geese troupe.
It was a beautiful morning. It was warm and the first rays of sunlight were heating up the water. That's when fisher Asbjo rowed out into the sea, like he did every morning.
For the first time since Nils and Krumel had left their home yard in West Vommenhog they were alone. They longed for Akka von Kebnekaisse and are afraid, that the old wise goose was lost forever.
With each day Nils, Krumel and Gorgo approached the goal of their trip Lappland a little more. Even though they had plenty of reasons to be joyous and happy they felt weak and defeated.
Nils Holgersson, Krumel the hamster and the eagle Gorgo are still underway to Lappland. Nils had a big longing for Akka von Kebnekaisse.
Nils Holgersson experienced for the first time a forest fire. At first he didn't know what had happened. All of a sudden a black smoke pillar rose into the heavens.
Nils Holgersson, Krumel the hamster and the eagle Gorgo find themselves on their way to Lappland. Even though they had a great longing for Akka von Kebnekaisse, from time to time they had to take a break in order to rest.
Nils Holgersson and Krumel the hamster were slowly approaching their goal Lappland on eagle Gorgo's back. The area over which they were flying appeared to become increasingly unreal.
Akka von Kebnekaisse was very worried. Since many years she'a been coming in the spring to this peaceful valley high above in Lappland but for the first time the peace seemed to be threatened.
Spring had come to Lappland. The sun shone, the flowers bloomed and it was pleasantly warm.
Nils Holgersson and the wild-geese are in Lappland. It is spring. The wild-geese have built their nests and are brooding their eggs.
Summer is here. The little geese are getting bigger and stronger day by day. All day long they think about nothing else except silliness and their parents must show a lot of patience.
Akka von Kebnekaise's wild-geese troupe is still in Lappiana. The little geese are almost grown, but still occupy much of their parent's time, so nowadays Nils Holgersson has much time for himself.
The summer comes to pass. The warming sun-rays start to lose their power. From the north a cold wind blows.
Akka von Kebnekaise and her wild-geese continue their flight to the south. Lappland lies far behind them. Day by day the weather becomes increasingly worse and a heavy rain forces them to land.
Akka von Kebnekaise and her wild-geese are still in flight to the south. It's already very autumn-like. Even the cattle is being driven down from the mountain pastures into the valley.
Akka von Kebnekaise and her wild-geese are making good progress. The weather is favourable. However, in order to placate the gooselings they make more frequent breaks, so that the gooselings can regain their strength.
On a rainy day Nils and Krumel are looking for shelter in an observation tower: Three other wanderers also take shelter here. So that the time doesn't seem long one starts to tell a story about the countryside, which lay at their feet.
Smirre is still tracking down Nils Holgersson. He's followed him from west Vommenhog up into the high north, of Lappland and back again. Hunger is torturing him. He's tired and discouraged.
With everday that the geese fly to the south Nils comes a little closer to his home. Nils actually would have every reason to be cheerful and happy, however he sees his return with mixed feelings.
After Nils discovered the truth about the condition which the pixie man has established, he's lost all reason to laugh.
Nils had already gotten used to the idea of not going home. He told the geese that he would stay forever with them.
Nils knows that it's high time for him to leave his parent's farm and to return to the geese, but suddenly the white house-goose Martin appears, to show his children where he was born. Nils tries to warn Martin but it's too late.
